Serve with: Open faced brie, tomato and back bacon melt OR...

Herbed goat cheese and grilled vegetable sandwich.

That's what the Knorr package advises. You know what else you can serve it with? Stale buns.

As far as the challenge is going, I'm not looking forward to the next couple of days. I'm experiencing the irritability others have been noting as well as headaches. Both Alice and I have been cranky-pantses these past couple of days. But I think I'm managing things slightly better: while the sample size admittedly was small, those polled in a survey of the household declared Alice crankier by 2 to 1 margin (thanks, son).

Curiously, we've argued most often about food. I want to make something with what we've got while Alice just wants to eat it, practically straight out the tin. She's getting frustrated with the extra 10 minutes it takes to make, for example, a sauce for tuna on toast. When I started talking about using one of the eggs to make mayo for our sandwiches this week, she nearly lost it. Now we're dividing the eggs and tuna in half, and each doing what we want with our portion.

I'm anxious to see how work goes this week. Hopefully it takes my mind off food.

  1. If you want to waste an egg to make mayo so that you can stretch a quarter can of tuna to two sandwiches, go right ahead. Just don't use my egg.
